When parts or charges that are to be loaded onto a furnace are heavy and require material handling facility for loading and unloading, a moving bogie or hearth is provided to make this easier. Once the hearth moves out of the furnace heating chamber parts can be loaded by means of an electrical overhead crane (EOT), gantry system or mobile crane / forklift mechanism. If required, special charge loading mechanisms can also be provided based on the user’s job profile, lack of material handling facility or overhead space constraint. The bogie movement is motorized for easy handling. Similarly the door movement would be with motorized gear drives or hydraulically / pneumatically actuated.
High temperature applications include sintering, hardening, annealing and normalizing whereas lower temperature applications include tempering and stress relieving are possible with Bogie Hearth Furnace. The control system is provided with options to set and control the ramping rate, soaking rate and cooling rate depending on the process cycle, the option of PLC based control is also available. The Bogie Hearth Furnace can be used in open atmosphere or controlled atmosphere as per application. We provide designs with in and out bogie (hearth) movement as well as through and through double door bogie movement if required for an assembly line or process line.
The mode of heating can be via electrical heaters, gas fired or oil fired burners as per the user’s requirement.The Bogie Hearth Furnace of J R Furnace are energy efficient achieved by efficient sealing to prevent undue heat losses and thyristor power controls to limit current consumption. Gas fired furnace are fired with high efficiency burners supported by a full complement of combustion system consisting of combustion fan, atomizing fan, oil heating and pumping systems and/or gas trains. In addition auto ignition, flame failure safety and complete control systems are offered. Practically any type of liquid or gaseous fuel can be used viz. Furnace Oil, Light Diesel Oil, LPG, Natural Gas singly or a combination of any oil or gas in case of dual fired furnaces.
To improve fuel efficiency, Recuperators for heating combustion air up to 5000C will be provided. For customers requiring even more fuel efficiency, Regenerative burners can be offered that can give an air preheat of 10000C or more. We can also provide self recuperative gas burners for air preheat up to 7500C.
Generally, our Bogie Hearth furnaces are lined with ceramic fibre modules/blankets on the side wall, roof and door and hearth of the furnace will be provided with combination of high/medium grade aluminium bricks backed-up by insulation bricks to minimize the skin temperature.
The Gas Fired Bogie Hearth Furnace for all above applications. Furnace can be offered with single bogie or double bogie, with motorized rack and pinion drive system, motorized or pneumatic door operation, effective sealing arrangement etc. The heating could be gas or liquid fuel fired including high velocity burners. We can also offer radiant tube fuel firing for special applications.
